I ran my Post Process, but some mapped transactions aren't posting.

After you run the Post to GL process, you may see a few exceptions listed, but there are no Unmapped Transaction Messages listed. Upon looking at the Exception report, you might see some transactions that should be mapped going to the Unmapped Transaction Account. The exception will say "The account assigned to unmapped transactions is included in this GL distribution." This causes the whole deposit to fail the posting process.

We can pull the unmapped transactions from their respective Deposits:

  1. Go to Financials>Post Revenue to GL. Click the Process with exceptions.
  2. Under the Recent Status Report, click the Exception report.
  3. Once in the exception report, we'll want to run it and search out all transactions moving to the unmapped transaction account. Type in the account number for Unmapped Transactions in the Find bar.
  4. This will then show us each transaction that's causing issue and the date for when they were deposited. The exception will say "The account assigned to unmapped transactions is included in this GL distribution." Go to Financials>Deposit Search and find the deposit that was made on this day.
  5. Create mappings for those unmapped transactions
  6. Run the Update Unmapped Transactions process
    1. Click Financials > Review Unmapped Transactions Messages
    2. Click Update Unmapped transactions in the upper left hand corner of the screen
    3. Click Start Process
  7. Re-run your post to GL process

Steps to Duplicate

  1. Go to Financials>Post Revenue to GL
  2. Click the name of the process.
  3. Once on the GL Process page, click Exception report. Run this report.
  4. See that there are a number of exceptions for this process, most caused by a few transactions being unmapped.
  5. Go back to the Financials area, and click Review Unmapped Transaction Messages. See that it’s entirely blank.
