Currency symbol for Swiss Francs (fr.) shows incorrectly in Donor Acknowledgement Letters

When the Regional Settings are set as French (Switzerland) on the workstation, the currency symbol fr. does not show correctly in Donor Acknowledgement Letters. It shows as f.The currency symbol shows correctly on the Gift Record and in the Format tab of the letter parameter when the Show Currency Character is checked
We are currently evaluating this issue and will update this article when we have more information. In the meantime, follow these steps:
  1. In the Donor Acknowledgement Letter, enter the currency symbol before the Gift Amount merge field and then uncheck the option to 'Show currency character' as in point 5 above.
  2. Run the letter and this will look correct.

Steps to Duplicate

  1. On the workstation via the Control Panel, set the Format to French (Switzerland) under Regions and Languages.
  2. Note on the Currency tab under Additional settings... that the Currency symbol is set to fr.
  3. Log into The Raiser's Edge and enter a new gift onto a record and again note the currency symbol is showing as fr.
  4. Go to Mail > Donor Acknowledgement Letters and create a new letter that will pick up this gift. In the letter include the Gift Amount field
  5. On the Mail parameter file, on Tab 9, check the option under Miscellaneous to 'Show currency character' and note the example shows the currency symbol as fr.
  6. Run the Donor Acknowledgement Letter and not the currency symbol now shows as f.
