Error: Data could not be saved. An error occurred before executing the process 'Query View Add Attribute Extension Business Process' - When creating a new Attribute Category

When attempting to create a new Attribute Category that has the Make available in lists option selected, one may encounter the following error:

Data could not be saved. An error occurred before executing the process 'Query View Add Attribute Extension Business Process' : The attribute category cannot be deleted because it is being used by the '[QUERY NAME]' query. BBERR_ORIGINAL_PROCEDURE:USP_ATTRIBUTECATEGORY_VALIDATECATEGORYDELETE BBERR_ORIGINAL_LINE_NUMBER: 19
Steps to resolve:
1. Go to Analysis, Information Library and open the query noted in the error
2. Locate and Delete the attribute from the query filter
3. Save the query
4. Restart the process

Steps to Duplicate

1.   Navigate to Administration > Attribute Categories > Attribute Categories tab. Click Add. The Add an Attribute Category window pops up.
2.   In the Add an Attribute window, enter a Name, select Constituent for Record type, and any Data type. Select the Make available in lists checkbox. Click Save.
3.   Navigate to Analysis > Information Library. Click Add an ad-hoc query. Select a Constituents source view and click OK.
4.   In the New Ad-hoc query window, expand the Attributes folder. Find the attribute you made in step 2 and drag it to the "Include records where:" parameter set.
5.   Navigate to the Set save options tab. Enter a name and click Save.
6.   Navigate back to the Attribute Categories tab in step 1. Find the Attribute Category you created in step 2 and attempt to delete it. Because it's in use in the query, you shouldn't be able to actually delete it. The attempt to delete it will add a flag for deletion on the Attribute Category.
7.   Repeat steps 1 and 2 to create another Attribute Category. See error: Data could not be saved. An error occurred before executing the process 'Query View Add Attribute Extension Business Process' : The attribute category cannot be deleted because it is being used by the '[QUERY NAME]' query.
