Last 4 Digits of Credit Card Number Deleted From Batch

Beginning with The Raiser's Edge 7.96, patch 10, when I add or edit a credit card number with 4 or less digits to batch, it is removed or fails to save once I tab out of the field.

NOTE: If this occurs for a tokenized (****) credit card number, see Credit card numbers disappear in batch
We are currently investigating this issue and will update this article when we have more information.

In the meantime, we recommend one of the following:
  • If the last 4 credit card digits aren't needed for visual reference in the batch, hide the field in the Batch Defaults. Because the values disappear when tabbing out of the field, hiding the field prevents them from being removed. To do this, go to Tools > Edit Batch Setup > Defaults tab > check Hide next to the Credit card number field.
  • Skip past the Credit Card Number field when editing the batch.
  • If the last 4 digits are needed to be visible in the batch, save the last 4 digits of a card number in batch, add extra placeholder digits into the Credit Card Number field so that the number has more than 4 digits. For example, instead of entering 1234, enter 01234, which will be stored in the batch and copied to the record as ?1234. If the credit card still disappears, you can enter all of the additional digits for a full credit card number instead (0000-0000-0000-1234). NOTE: this will replace the credit card token, so should not be done if the cards need to be charged.
