Step #1: Create a selection of patrons who have donated in this time period:
  1. Navigate to Analysis, then click on Information Library
  2. Click Add an ad-hoc query 
  3. Select the source view of Constituents and click OK
  4. In the left column, highlight Revenue. In the middle column, drag Date into Include records where. Set this to On or after the Date range you want to consider for donations.
  5. To find everyone who made a donation: In the left column expand Revenue and select Application Details. In the middle column, drag Application to Include records where. Set this equal to Donation.
  6. (Optional) To find everyone who gave to a specific Designation: In the left column expand Revenue and select Application Details. From the middle column, drag Designation System Record ID to Include records where. Set this to be equal to or one of the designations that you're looking for. 
  7. Click the Set Save Options Tab and Name your query
  8. Check to Create a selection
  9. Check to Show selection in the Query Designer
  10. Save and Close

Step #2: Create a selection of members who are expired:
  1. Navigate to Analysis, then click on Information Library 
  2. Click Add an ad-hoc query 
  3. Select the source view of Constituents and click OK.
  4. In the left column, expand Members, then select Memberships. From the middle column, drag Status into Include records where. Set this to be One of Lapsed or Expired.
  5. To define a date range of expiration: From the same middle column, drag Expiration date into Include records where. Set this to be on or after the expiration dates you'd like to include.
  6. (Optional) To filter on a specific membership program: From the same middle column, drag Membership Program into Include records where. Set this Equal to your membership program.
  7. From the left column, select the Selections folder. From the middle column, drag the selection you saved in Step #1 above into Include records where. Set this Equal to Yes.
  8. Name will be included in the results by default.
  9. To see expiration date: In the left column, expand Member, then select Membership. From the middle column, drag Expiration date into Results fields to display.
  10. To see status: From the same middle column, drag Status into Results fields to display.
  11. To see amount donated: In the left column, expand Revenue, then select Application Details. From the middle, drag Amount into Include records where.
  12. Click the Set Save Options Tab and Name your query
  13. Save and Close
