Certain opportunities may require that applicants submit examples of artwork, audio recordings, videos, or other audiovisual materials that are very large files. If the question type soliciting the materials for the application is a File Upload question type, there is a 10 MB size limit for these files. This may prohibit the upload of certain types of media files, like audio recordings or videos. What is the best practice to allow an applicant to upload a large audiovisual file to their application?
Instead of using the question type File Upload, use the URL question type and request a link to the location of an outside date storage website, like Google Drive, DropBox, Vimeo, or YouTube, for the applicant to upload their materials. This allows applicants to attach significantly larger files without any increased wait time or errors when exceeding the size limit when submitting their materials.
The applicant can investigate an outside data storage website and follow their guidelines for uploading files and generating links to those files.
