How to segment a BBIS mailing by engagement

To avoid SPAM traps, we recommend you only send messages to engaged recipients who’ve open your messages or clicked links in the past 90 days. For information about SPAM traps and the importance of engagement, review this blog post.

To create a query of engaged recipients in your Blackbaud CRM database, follow the steps below.
Please use the following steps to create queries of engaged recipients:
  1. Go to Information Library > Analysis
  2. Click "Add an Ad-hoc query"
  3. In the left-hand pane, browse to and select the "Community Emails Received" field
  4. In the middle-pane, double-click "Date Sent"
  5. In the new window that pops up, select “Is” and "Last quarter" (respectively.  'Last Quarter' will cover the suggested prior 90 days)
  6. Click "OK"
  7. In the middle pane, double-click "Opened"
  8. Confirm the values of "Equal to" and "Yes", then click "OK"
  9. In the middle pane, double-click “Clicked Through”
  10. Confirm the values of "Equal to" and "Yes", then click "OK"
  11. In the top right-hand pane under the "include records where" section, select the "Opened" line and click the '(+' button
  12. With the "Clicked Through" line selected, click the ')+' button
  13. With the "Clicked Through" line selected, click  the ‘or’ button
