Note: Passwords are created and maintained by the administrator at your organization. Blackbaud does not create or have access to your organization's passwords.


In The Raiser's Edge 7 version 7.8 and higher, The Financial Edge version 7.6 and higher, The Education Edge version 7.6 and higher, and Blackbaud Student Information System 7.70 and higher:
Beginning with these versions there is no method for anyone, including a Supervisor, to determine a specific user's password. This change was implemented for database security reasons. If a user forgets his password the Supervisor should instead overwrite the user's existing password and allow that user rights to change it (if needed). A user with Supervisor rights should change the password for the username and provide it to the user who needs it.



In The Raiser's Edge 7 (versions 7.71 and lower), The Financial Edge (versions 7.52 and lower), and The Education Edge (versions 7.52 and lower): 
  1. Log in as Supervisor or as a user with Supervisor rights
  2. On the navigation bar, click Administration
  3. Click Set up system security
  4. Select the user name and click Open
  5. Place the cursor in the Password field
  6. Press F7 on keyboard. The password is displayed in a pop-up window.

In Accounting for Nonprofits:
  1. Log into Security as Supervisor or a user with Supervisor rights
  2. Select the username and click Open
  3. Place the cursor in the Password field
  4. Press F7 on keyboard. The password is displayed in a pop-up window.

In the Admissions Office 6, Registrars Office 6, and The Raiser's Edge 6:
  1. Log into Configuration as Supervisor
  2. Select the Security tab
  3. Open the User whose password is needed
  4. Place your cursor in the Password field and press F7
